Spiritual Retreats

The word retreat can be a noun (a physical place) or a verb (the mental or physical process of withdrawing). The high-pressured, highly complex modern world leaves many with a need to retreat either mentally or physically both to control stress and to re-discover our Spiritual essence.

This brief series of articles by Dr. Sheri Rosenthal describes some of the most Spiritual places on earth.

Bhutan: A Magical Kingdom Bhutan is an amazing kingdom rich with culture and spirituality. For centuries Bhutan has remained isolated from the rest of the world. Since its doors were opened in 1974, visitors have been mesmerized by the beautiful and pristine country and the hospitable and charming people.

Calakmul and Kohunlich The energy in this area is just delightful and so peaceful, like a part of time still lost and forgotten. Calakmul is an incredible Mayan site and home to a protected biosphere reserve in the Southern Yucatan area. What is most interesting in Kohunlich are the stucco masks and the typical Rio Bec architecture style, which is the ornate design type that can be seen throughout the region.

Teotihuacán: "Where Man becomes God" For years don Miguel and the apprentices he personally trained, myself included, have taken thousands of seekers to this wonderful city. I have watched hundreds of people come on these journeys stressed, confused, and wishing for something more in their lives, hoping to find what is missing. By the end of the journey their faces are glowing, they are relaxed, and they have clarity about the direction they are going in life.

Tulum, Coba, Cenotes, White Sand & Blue Seas! I adore the Mayan Riviera as it is sometime called, because of its simple beauty and wonderful energy, the perfect place for a spiritual journey! Tulum's white limestone beaches and sapphire blue Caribbean waters are also perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling.
